You’ve got a big work event coming up and it’s time to put in the food order. You know lots of people will be attending and you’d hate to run out of food before everyone is full, right? So you take it upon yourself to order a little extra, only to realize you wound up order entirely too much! So, what should you do with the leftovers? Here are some ideas:

Come Back For Seconds

After everyone fills up their plates for the first time, if there’s still food left, make an announcement that everyone can come back up for seconds. You’d be surprised at how many people were being bashful the first time, or courteous so that everyone could get a taste.

Chances are, at least a handful of people will come back to fill up their plate for a second time and that’ll help make a dent in the food.

Prepare Doggy Bags

Send your employees, or your guests home with some of the leftovers. It’s a wonderful way to avoid wasting whatever was left and it’ll make a lot of people happy. After all, sending them home with a plate of food could alleviate them from cooking a full meal when they get home from work.

Wrap It and Store It

We’re going to guess you’ve got a pretty larger refrigerator somewhere in that office – so wrap up the leftovers and throw them in the fridge. Tomorrow is another day and your employees will likely jump at the chance for a “free” lunch two days in a row.

Donate It

Not only will you feel good about yourself, you’ll make plenty of hungry people happy by donating any leftovers you might have. Call around to a few local charities or shelters see if they’d be interested in a few trays of fresh food.
