Have a restaurant picked out already for you and your date? If you do, you’re a few steps ahead of most. But that’s not the only thing you need to do in order to make sure it’s a very special day for both you and your partner. See below for a few pro tips on making Valentine’s Day dinner shine brighter than the ring on his or her finger!
How To Get A Good Table
Chances are, if you book a reservation between 6pm and 8:30pm you won’t get the best seat in the house. If you’re looking for a cool corner table, or a table with a great view, we recommend shooting for before 6pm or after 9pm and remember to be nice to the host!
Have Some Patience
Lots of couples choose to dine out on Valentine’s Day and that means most restaurants in the area are probably going to be pretty crowded. If you go in with the expectation that you’ll sit down right away, get your food within minutes and be out of there in an hour, you’re probably going to have a bad time. Realigning your expectations is a great way to remain calm — enjoy the alone time with your significant other.
When To Pop The Question
If you plan on proposing, there’s a good chance you’re wondering when the best time to do it is, right? We suggest getting it out of the way early so you can get rid of the jitters and hopefully enjoy your meal. Pro Tip: it’s not such a great idea to hide the ring in the food or the drinks as this can lead to quite the mess or worse, some a serious health problem.
Consider Cooking At Home
If you haven’t made a reservation by now, it may be best to skip dining out altogether. It may be best to purchase some fresh ingredients and cook at home, and you can dine out a day or two after the 14th.
Happy Valentine’s Day from your friends at DSC!
