Is there anything better than coming home from work on a frigid winter day, starting a fire, and putting your feet up on the couch? Yes, there is something better as a matter of fact. It’s enjoying all of the above with a slice of delicious pie on your plate. After all, most of us consider dessert to the best meal of the day, so why not treat yourself to one of the delicious recipes below in honor of National Pie Day?

Peppermint Brownie Pie

Here we have a blend of two winter favorites – peppermint and brownies. You’ll need to use your favorite pastry pie crust to line a 9-inch pie plate and then pour in brownie batter mixed with peppermint chocolate pieces. Serve with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream and top with additional peppermint chocolate pieces or flakes.

Oatmeal Pecan Pie

Put a twist on your classic pecan pie by using oatmeal to add a chewy texture. Combine melt butter, sugar, corn syrup and oats in a medium saucepan and then stir in eggs and vanilla. Pour the mixture into a pastry crust and top with pecans. Serve warm with whipped cream.

Cranberry-Raspberry Pie

Craving the sweet tartness of cranberries and raspberries? Why not toss them into a pie and enjoy them with a warm, delicious crust? Roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface and combine undrained raspberries, tapioca and cranberries in a large bowl with sugar and almond extract. Add the berries to the crust and bake at 375°F for approximately 30 minutes.
