Casual Tone
This is best saved for a party including only your close friends and family members. After all, the wording on this type of invitation should be very warm and inviting, to reflect the friendly and relaxed atmosphere of this type of party.
You can say things like:

- Come celebrate the holidays with us
- Home for the holidays? We’d love for you to join us
- Let’s eat, drink and be merry
Formal Tone
If you plan on throwing a more formal party (including a ritzy dress code, elegant decor and classy food and drinks) your invitation should be worded accordingly.
You can say things like:
- You are cordially invited to
- We request the honor of your presence
- Mr. and Mrs. (insert last name here) are requested to celebrate the holidays
Corporate Tone
Throwing a holiday party for the office? Your employees are definitely looking forward to it, just keep in mind that it should worded completely differently than the first two options.
You can say things like:
- You are invited to (company name’s) Holiday Celebration
- Come join us as we celebrate another successful year
- (Company name) invites you to an evening of dinner, drinks and holiday cheer
