School’s out, the sun’s out and it’s time to get the grill out! Summer is officially here and if that’s not enough of an excuse to throw get outside and enjoy the beautiful weather, you can certainly throw a party! If the creative juices have escaped you, check out the creative summer barbecue party theme ideas below for some inspiration!
Classic Country BBQ
This is what you and your guests probably think of first when you hear about a backyard barbecue. We’re talking red and white checkered tablecloths, picnic-style tables, mason jars, flowers and table lanterns.
When it comes to the food, you can keep it simple with burgers, hot dogs, corn on the cob, potato salad and macaroni salad and we recommend incorporating a DIY ice cream bar for dessert!
Hey there cowboy, you ready to party? For this theme, we suggest utilizing cacti, barn-door decor, hay and western-style signage. Cowboy hats and bandanas are great items to hand out to your guests as they arrive and you can go with themed beverages such as “Texas Tea” or “Spicy Cactus Jalapeno Margaritas.”
Beer & BBQ
This is one of our favorites. Is there any better pairing than smoked barbecue food and beer? Ribs, brisket, pulled pork and smoke chicken or sausage served with collard greens, mac and cheese and coleslaw — you really can’t go wrong!
Have your guests each bring a different style of beer and do some sample tastings — it’s a great way to try some new flavors and start conversation with all of your guests.
